William Cornysh

William Cornysh (d. c. 1502) was Informator choristarum at Westminster Abbey from 1479 to 1491. It had been thought that the works ascribed to ‘Cornysch’ is the Eton Choirbook were written by the musician and dramatist William Cornysh (d. 1523), a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal and possibly the son of the elder Cornysh, but David Skinner has suggested that on stylistic and other grounds, the older man is the more probable composer of the Eton works.
