Robert White

Robert White (c. 1538–1574) was granted the degree of MusB at Cambridge in 1560, after ten years of study. He was appointed Master of the Choristers at Ely Cathedral in 1562, and by 1567 he had moved to Chester Cathedral, where he was involved in the Chester mystery plays. He ended his career at Westminster Abbey.

His surviving church music, which is exclusively in Latin, consists mainly of psalm-motets, but also contains two very fine sets of Lamentations and a Magnificat.
