• New editions now online

I’ve finally managed to add two new editions to the catalogue, namely Robert White’s beautiful Magnificat and Thomas Tallis’s extraordinary Gaude gloriosa.

Also in the final stages of preparation is John Browne’s six-part setting of Stabat virgo mater Christi. This is a fine piece, on a double cantus firmus, but has been rather neglected, probably because three of the six voices need re-composing for the first third of the work. In this slightly daunting task I was fortunate to collaborate with Dr Magnus Williamson of Newcastle University. Even if I say so myself, I think we did a pretty good job.

I’m also looking forward to working on Ludford’s Lady Masses for a forthcoming volume of Early English Church Music.
